Following a comprehensive 13-man-day audit that encompassed 16 offices, Anglo-Eastern’s IT Department has received a commendation from BSI for achieving ISO/IEC 27001:2022 (Information Security Management System) and ISO 22301:2019 (Business Continuity Management System) certifications.
The ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification represents an upgrade from the 2013 version under which we were previously certified. Anglo-Eastern is the first shipping company globally to attain certification under this new standard, marking a significant milestone in our industry. Xerxes Kiok Kan, head of information security (CISO) at Anglo-Eastern emphasised our commitment to safeguarding sensitive information, including client data and seafarer records, with “this certification building on a core promise to provide reliable and secure client services”.
This year, we extended the scope of our audit to encompass ISO 22301:2019 certification for Business Continuity in our Global IT Operations based in Hong Kong. This expansion demonstrates our dedication to aligning with industry benchmarks for Enterprise IT operations, ensuring resilience across our IT systems and services in the face of business disruptions.
The accomplishment upholds our desire to promote the highest standards in information security and business continuity amidst increased government regulation and industry specific requirements.
