WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Conducting Training Courses (Classroom/ simulator/ Practicals/ Online) for Senior and Junior Officers and ratings and impart training on Navigational / Engineering / Automation / Soft skill /safety courses / OEM / Vessel Specific training to seafarers at AEMTC.
- Development and Monitoring of Course where one is a faculty and take feedbacks and participate in Verification Process and Review meetings.
- Updates and improvements to the course.
- Be in communication with ship staff as Guide and Mentor, solving their doubts and queries.
- Develop E-Learning Programmes for LMS.
- Assist in developing training models in automation field
- Ensure implementation of quality standards in the training courses and maintain highest level of safety practices during the training and monitor compilation course data as per QMS.
- Constantly seek to upgrade the teaching quantity and use more effective teaching methods and suggest and report methods for further improvement of the courses. Incorporate Case studies from the Incident Reports and Non-routine messages in AESM fleet/ PSC vetting inspection reports.
- Identify and record all deficiencies related to training activities and communicate to the Course-in-charge. Take immediate steps to temporarily rectify the deficiency and conduct the course in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist Course-in-charge for up-dating and revising of course Master files, participants handout, prepare use and update PPTs, relevant videos, exercises, tests, incorporating new regulations, best industry practices and new training material received. Reference books are inventoried and maintained and proper updating procedure is followed and all documents are controlled with revision numbers
- Monitoring and supervising the course activities. Ensure that the courses are conducted as per the course plan, timetable and impart highest quality to training as per the Detailed Teaching Syllabus and Lesson Plan. Ensure and review the participant’s feedback at end of each course and include these suggestions to improve upon the contents and delivery of the courses to the course-in-charge /programme head to apply corrective action.
- Development and Monitoring of Course with the respective course-in-charge. Verification and review of courses (for all course where one is a faculty) at least once a year.
- Updates and improvements made to the courses periodically. Also plan and develop, new training courses as may be needed under guidance of Programme Head..
- To ensure that all equipment relating to training is inventoried and maintained, and where appropriate, inspected and tested in accordance with current standards/ legislations, guidance and manufacturer’s recommendations and reported to programme head about any issues.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
- ETO of min 1 yr sailing experience and preferably 1 to 2 yrs teaching experience
Education:
- ETO CoC from a reputed Flag State or Other Specialized Qualification.
- Other Specialized Training courses and certification. Additional qualification in automation field.
